About me
Mary Kane is a dedicated Reading Interventionist at Eastside Connections School with four decades of experience in the classroom. A native of Niles, Michigan, Ms. Kane’s passion for education began early, inspired by a childhood spent “teaching” the children in her neighborhood. She holds a Bachelor’s degree from Western Michigan University and a Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction from Columbia International University.
Throughout her career, Ms. Kane has remained a committed lifelong learner. Most recently, she partnered with her RESA coach to successfully transition instructional practices from Balanced Literacy to Structured Literacy, transforming traditional Guided Reading groups into a comprehensive MTSS/WINN model. Her work has contributed to stronger systems of support, more intentional use of instructional time, and improved outcomes for students. Driven by the belief that every student—and every instructional minute—matters, Ms. Kane is dedicated to ensuring all learners develop the skills needed to reach their full potential.
