About me
Jennifer Shabazz is an educational leader with a strong background in both classroom instruction and school administration. She holds a Bachelor’s degree from Western Michigan University, a Master’s degree from the University of Phoenix, and an administration licensure from Indiana Wesleyan University. She is also certified in both Upper and Lower Elementary Montessori education. With 11 years of teaching experience and 7 years in administration, she brings a well-rounded perspective to school leadership. Jennifer is passionate about building systems that support both student achievement and teacher growth and is proud to serve the Niles Community Schools as a dedicated leader and Niles Viking.
Under Jennifer's leadership, the school has undergone a significant transformation in how student data is used to drive instruction and intervention. Through the development of structured WINN (What I Need Now) intervention blocks and a strong partnership with the local RESA, she has helped establish systems that ensure data is not only collected but actively used to inform daily instruction, flexible grouping, and targeted support. This work has strengthened collaboration among staff, aligned Tier 1, Tier 2, and Tier 3 instruction, and created a more responsive and equitable system where all students receive what they need in real time. As a result, the school has seen meaningful improvements in student outcomes and a more efficient, sustainable approach to intervention that supports both learners and teachers.
