Keynote: Instruction and Intervention in Math

In this session, we focus on five research-validated practices for math instruction and intervention. We will discuss the importance to building an instructional platform that develops math vocabulary, uses multiple representations, incorporates modeling and practice, builds fluency, and focuses on word-problem solving.

  • Explain how to develop formal math vocabulary.
  • Describe the three types of representations. Share two ways to build math fact fluency.
